Getting started
Load your first layer and make a map in under a minute.
Launch the app
Head to app.dropmaps.net. DropMaps runs entirely in your browser — there’s nothing to install and your data stays on your machine until you choose to sync it to the cloud (a Pro feature).
Choose to sign up & login with a free account, continue without sign in OR subscribe for advanced options.
Add a layer
Drag a file straight onto the map, or use Add layer. Supported formats include:
- Shapefile (
.shpor a zipped shapefile) - KML / KMZ
- GeoJSON and TopoJSON
- CSV with latitude/longitude (or WKT) columns
- GeoTIFF / Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF
- PMTiles archives
Layers in other coordinate systems are reprojected to WGS84 automatically.
Style and edit
Select a layer to open its style editor — adjust colours, strokes, fills and point markers. Open the attribute table to view and edit feature properties, and use the draw tools to add or reshape geometry.
Save & share
The editor is free and local forever — import, edit and export every supported format without an account. Cloud sync and backup are a Pro feature: upgrade to back up your maps to the cloud and sync them across devices, and to share a map with anyone via a link — a branded, read-only viewer with optional password, expiry and view stats. Pro includes 5 GB of storage, with extra +10 GB packs from $1/mo USD when you need more. See Pricing for what each plan includes.
