Turn a spreadsheet into a map — free
Have a spreadsheet of places with latitude and longitude columns? Save it as a CSV and drop it onto DropMaps — every row becomes a point on the map, with the rest of your columns kept as its details.

How to do it
- Make sure your spreadsheet has a latitude and a longitude column (or easting and northing), then save it as .csv.
- Drop your CSV file into the box above — or click “choose a file” to pick it from your device.
- Click “Open in DropMaps”. DropMaps opens in a new tab with your file already on the map.
- Every row appears as a point. Click one to see its details, or colour the points by any column.
Questions
What should my columns be called?
Common names like lat / lon, latitude / longitude, x / y or easting / northing are picked up automatically. If yours are called something else, DropMaps asks you which columns to use.
Can it find places from street addresses?
Not from a CSV yet — each row needs coordinates. Many spreadsheet add-ons can add latitude and longitude from addresses first.
Can I share the map with someone?
Yes. With a free account you can send a link that opens the map in any browser — the person you send it to does not need an account.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened right in your browser, on your own computer. Nothing is sent to us unless you choose to save the map to a DropMaps account.

It’s a full map maker in your browser — colour and label your data, draw and edit shapes, measure, stack files on top of each other, and share a map with a link anyone can open.
