    How to do it

    1. A .gdb is a folder — right-click it and zip it into a single .zip file.
    2. Drop your zipped .gdb file into the box above — or click “choose a file” to pick it from your device.
    3. Click “Open in DropMaps”. DropMaps opens in a new tab with your file already on the map.
    4. The layers appear on the map. Click any feature to see its details, or open the table to see them all.

    Questions

Do I need an ArcGIS licence?

No. DropMaps reads File Geodatabases by itself, and it is free to use.

Can I turn it into a shapefile or KML?

Yes. Once it is open you can save any layer as a shapefile, KML, GeoJSON, GeoPackage or CSV. See the File Geodatabase to shapefile converter.

    Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is opened right in your browser, on your own computer. Nothing is sent to us unless you choose to save the map to a DropMaps account.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in any modern web browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari — on Windows, Mac, Linux, and on phones and tablets.
